OUR TRIP TO COOBER PEDY......

Left-York Peninsula Back- Flinders Ranges Right - Eyre Peninsula
Upper Spencer Gulf
Tone finished up with his job on the Wednesday and spent the two days stressing about "packing"
I however stayed at work and relaxed.  I had a nice last day and had nice Thai for lunch and a lovely arvo tea Mmmm....
Friday night we with the Shepp Gang went to the RSL for dinner and dancing....They "the gang" gave us a signature bear with lovely messages on it for us to remember till we meet up for our Shepp Gang Reunion aye Lyn??!!

Saturday was leaving day and we left on time at 8.30am and took the drive up through Echuca  to Swan Hill.  We called in on Cliff and Fay (friends of Tony) and stayed a while - very nice to meet them and we had a nice lunch and so left a bit later than planned OH WELL!!
We traveled to Nyah and stayed on the Murray river - had a fire and it was so relaxing.

Then next morning on our way to Mildura the day was very ordinary Windy , Rainy  shitfull
Got to Mildura where it was it was still raining and we had to buy a new jug as the other one finally died checked the place a little ,had lunch down on the river near the house boats and decided to start moving again.
Onto Renmark where we stopped at fruit fly border patrol handing over our 2 apples and 2 red onions (Bastards) we needed them OH WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!.

We stayed at Renmark next to Bedls animal sanctuary in a rotary park.
The  Dinosaur looked after us that night.  We then proceeded to head along from Renmark to Port Augusta SA thats where Betty (THE SAT NAV Slut) got us lost on back roads which we soon discovered the road had ended.
There was a river crossing at the bottom of a very large decent in which a barge was taking vehicles to the other side of the Murray.
So down we went Van and all onto the Barge (Not sure it would fit on) headed across to the other side and continued on our way.
The roads after that soon become long straight open plains with Rain and strong winds and tumble weeds which we thought in the distance were Kangaroos
So Flat and so long the straight Roads we finally made to Port Augusta where we stayed 3 Nights went on a River cruise up the Spencer gulf  and visited the Wadlata Discovery Outback Centre (It was Fantastic) giving us an idea of the Geological and human history of the area and what we are about to encounter.
We leave Port Augusta Thursday heading for Coober Pedy

Love and miss you all

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!

Well, we are going to be on the road again!! We had a call from Martin at Radeka Downunder today and he asked if we could start earlier with him - MONDAY 30TH MAY......
So today we have taken down the annexe and part packed as we are leaving Shepparton on Saturday next weekend.  YEHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to take about 7 days to get there with a couple of stops on the way....

It will be sad to leave here in one way as we have made some great friends.  But we will keep in touch as they are doing the same as us.
Last weekend we did some renovations to the dinette area - we got rid of the cupboard and table and will have a "U" shaped lounge when we get the new cushion to fill the gap.  It looks great aye! Tone did the padded board with buttons and put it onto the wall to cover the holes where the cupboard used to be.  He cut the table back and we now have a shelf for the bloody computer and we are just going to get a wireless keyboard and mouse.  We are going to get a little round folding table for if we want to eat inside.

Looks great and gives us more space.  The other thing we did was take the net curtains down and OMG what a difference that also made to the feel of space and light.

We had a night out with the "gang" on Friday night at the RSL - dinner and a live band.   Had an absolute ball and we managed to get some rock and roll moves in on the dance floor - what we could remember anyway.
Last night we had the gang over for another fire and nibbles which was great and Tone got the guitar out and Ian played his mouth organ.  It was really a great night and we all had a sing a long - some better than others !!!
It has got that cold down here that we have "FIVE" blankets and a wool quilt on the bed and we are still getting cold!

At Coober Pedy we will be in the motel which is apparently a constant 22 degrees which will be lovely.

I am now on the mend from having pnuemonia and getting back into some form of exercise. I am back to walking to work - although cold its a great start to the day
Tone has had a week at his new job but we will have to let that go........
Tone has found it hard at the new job with them not wanting to let him know much - and they sit on the computer all day on ebay and its been boring for Tone - as you all know we both like to be kept busy.......

Enjoy the couple of pics
Miss and love you all

EASTER IN SHEPP.....& MELBOURNE WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Us at Draculas

Dessert Mmmmm.....

Guess???????
Hello from sunny shepp......

Well easter was a quiet weekend for us.  Tone picked me up from work on the Thursday arvo and OMG came back to the caravan park and it was packed to the gunnells!!!  There was every available spot taken in the park and all by "tourists".  Funny though - why would they come here???!!  I figured it out though - it must be central for family and friend groups to meet here and catch up.  By the end of the weekend we were sick of hearing the name "chloe" as that poor kid couldn't do anything.  Next door to us the family had a whinger kid that cried the whole weekend - we are not used to having our space invaded.  I know we are old farts.......

We went up to a place called Yalupna Island which is a beachy camping spot in the bush on the Murray river.  Wendy and Les were up there for the easter break so we took the drive (1 hour from here) to see them.  It was fantastic.  Tone went out with Les in his boat fishing and it was very relaxing.  We are going to take the van up for the weekend in a couple of weeks.  Can't wait!!

We invited the "usual crowd" for afternoon tea on the Tuesday after the tourists had left and we had a fire - it was a lovely way to end the long weekend....

Bummer tho being a TEMP I lost three days pay.   Tone is still now working and not for the lack of trying but he has been doing LED light conversions so that is keeping him going.  He has an interview tomorrow.  We are trying to hang here till the end of June - but will keep you all posted.

MELBOURNE WEEKEND

We had a great weekend last weekend in Melbourne.  We went down Friday afternoon and stayed in City Tempo right in the city.   I watched the "wedding" while Tone caught up with Nic and Josh......
Saturday morning we ventured to the VIC markets and then took Lauren and Nic for a drive down to brighton beach and to st kilda beach.  Saw the Spirit of Tassie in port and got sexcited about when we do go on it to Tassie.

How lucky were we - we got tickets to go to "Draculas" - its a dinner show place we got a three course meal and a "fantastic" show.  So if anyone is in Melbourne or on the gold coast you have to go...We had such a great time and laughed so much - totally politically incorrect but that was all part of the fun!!!!!!!

We had a little flutter at the "crown" and home to bed no richer......(situation normal)

On sunday we had a lovely brekky at the chocolate place and it was yummy.  A bit more shopping and then we all went to Eureka which is the tallest viewing building in Australia.  YES even I went up and had a look from NOT TOO CLOSE TO THE GLASS!!!!  We enjoyed it and got some great pics so hope you enjoy them.  We then dropped the "kids" back to the hotel and we had to make our way back to Shepparton..
It was really good to see Lauren and Nic, and hope they enjoyed catching up with us too.

Love and miss you all
